MacOS 12.3 release broke UPDD installers

Dave Bhattacharjee
Mac OS

UPDD installers, created before 23rd March 2022, rely on the Python 2.7 scripting language being available, and Apple have removed this from 12.3.

Unfortunately, when installing with an old installer in 12.3, parts of the installer 'silently' fail and the installation is incomplete.

At the end of the installation, no driver is loaded, the UPDD Daemon icon is missing and the UPDD Commander icon shows an '!' to indicate it can't communicate with the driver API.

As of 23rd March 2022, we have addressed this issue and can build any versions of our macOS driver as required.

Therefore, to successfully install the UPDD driver in macOS 12.3, you must use a UPDD installer created after this date.
