Touch issue with Windows 10 Anniversary Edition

Dave Bhattacharjee

Windows 10 Anniversary Edition has a detrimental effect on some touch devices in that they no longer trigger a touch.

This edition of Windows 10 introduced tighter parsing of the supplied touch data, in particular the confidence property, and in cases where this incoming touch fails the new test it would appear the touch data is rejected, hence touch not working as expected. Confidence is a suggestion from the device about whether the touch contact was an intended or accidental touch.

Our driver can reinstall touch in these cases in that we implement a virtual hid device to post data into the operating system and data passed via this method is not rejected.
