The console will display any issues that might be affecting touch functionality with the use of an error entry as per this example and described below:

This is a severe issue. The Console cannot communicate with the driver. It is likely that the driver is not loaded or has frozen. Check if the driver process is running. This may require a reboot or re-installation.
The only time this can be legitimately seen in Windows is when you use the command 'upddutils hidmode on' to stop the driver to allow the Native HID driver to take control. |
