System Dock

Commander has a specific set of gestures aim exclusively at the System Dock.

If the dock is hidden it can normally be shown by pushing the cursor to the extreme edge where the dock reside to show the dock.

When using touch it may be difficult to achieve this when using a stylus to push the cursor to the extreme edge of the video albeit the Edge Acceleration feature is used for this purpose.

Nevertheless, since UC version 1.0.16, there is a standard single touch features defined under 'All Applications' to (by default) temporarily show the dock when swiping up from the bottom of the screen with one finger. It only has any effect if the Dock is hidden. Since version 1.0.19 the Swipe From Screen Edge gesture is automatically set to match the position of the Dock.

Regarding the "Show Dock temporarily if hidden" option there are a few points to consider:

  1. If the Dock is already visible then the action doesn't do anything.
  2. Otherwise, it shows the Dock until the user clicks somewhere outside of the Dock, or switches applications. Then the Dock is hidden again.
  3. If the Dock is already visible this setting won't cause the Dock to become hidden once the user clicks somewhere else or switches applications.

Once the Dock is on show there is a separate set of gestures used to control the Dock as defined in the Dock application definition.

This set makes use of the 'Send command to UI element' feature to cater for standard and magnified docks:
