These are the system requirements for the standard installation to work:
Component |
Requirement |
Processor |
X86 64 bit and 32 bit. ARM support to be considered at some future date. |
Desktop manager |
Supports modern Gnome and KDE based desktop managers.
|
System interface |
Touch data is posted via Xtest or Uinput interfaces, see Kernel interfaces |
X interface |
Permission to open an interface to X (if using the X interface) |
Touch device (s) |
USB or Serial as supported in the supplied driver package |
Kernel and Glibc versions |
These are discussed here for different architectures (currently X86 only) |
Access to TCP IP port 4146 |
The driver requires access to TCP IP port 4146 for internal computer processing only. This port can be changed if required in the UPDD Bootstrap file.
UPDD utilizes TCP/IP for inter-process communication. The user mode driver component listens on port 4146 and other programs (including custom programs utilizing the UPDD API) communicate with this port. The driver requires access to TCP/IP port 4146 for internal computer processing only. This is bound to the loopback adapter only, i.e. it is available only to processes running on the local machine.
