The driver is responsible for interfacing with the touch hardware and receiving all touch data. The touch data is made available on the driver's API.
UPDD Gesture module utilises the API to receive all touch data and process accordingly. Gesture functionality differs depending on the operating system in use.
For Windows 7, 8 and 10, that implements its own gesture support as part of Windows native touch functionality, the gesture software only offers UPDD client programs a gesture API interface.
For Linux, that offers a degree of gesture support in various desktop managers, the gesture software only offers UPDD client programs a gesture API interface.
For MacOS the gesture software implements a fully functional gesture interface and also offers UPDD client programs a gesture API interface.
Note: The gesture software will check that UPDD V6 is installed and that it is a compatible version and issue an appropriate error message if the loaded driver is incompatible.
