Devices

The Device function lists the installed devices and the devices supported by the installed driver.

Installed

Lists the devices installed and shows the UPDD handle ID and device name.

Additional, for the selected device it lists the status (OK, NOK and Disabled) and the desktop monitor (no. and name) associated with the device.

For serial devices, it also shows the associated serial port that can be changed as required.

For serial devices or any listed as NOK or Disabled you can use the delete control '-' to delete the device.

Supported

List the devices supported by the driver.

USB devices are automatically discovered when they are plugged in (so long as they are in the supported list!).

Serial devices can be added using the + option to add the device, see below.

Serial Devices

Serial port devices are not added by default to the list of active devices unless the installed driver only supports one serial device in which case it is added automatically with the default serial port name.

To manually add a serial port select the serial device in the list of supported device and use the plus option to add the device

You will then be asked to enter the serial port name that must match the port name as listed in the system.

The com port is then listed in the device list:

In the above example there is no serial port 'COM1' on the system so the connect request has failed hence the status of NOK. A status of OK indicates the connect to the serial port was successful.

Further information regarding serial ports is available here.
