The UPDD software is licensed software and as such requires a license per system when the production version of the software is installed. 

Production (registered) software is either supplied by pointer device manufacturers, system integrators (who are entitled to distribute the driver) or directly from Touch-Base.

Production software will run without any time limitations or restrictions.

If you have a trial/evaluation version of the driver then it does come with a number of limitations:

• It will only work for 7 days.
• Each trial session, after a system restart, is limited to a number of touches.

You will be given a warning that trial touches are nearly completed:

At the end of either of these periods a notification will be issued indicating either the ​expiry period has been reached or, as per this example, when the touches per session limitation has been reached.

This notification will be issued with each subsequent touch and the UPDD Daemon icon, as seen in the system tray / menu bar, will show an exclamation mark (as seen above), to indicate touch will have stopped working.

To purchase the driver after the trial period or to enter a registration key issued with the driver you need to register the driver as described in the Registration document.

The Status dialog will indicate the type of license you have. In this example the 7 day evaluation period has expired as shown:
