System Requirements

The following is the minimum system requirements for the driver to function:

Component Requirement
Touch Device A supported USB touch device.
Operating system Supported Windows desktop OS -  2003, XP/XPe, Windows 64 bit, Vista 32 / 64 bit and Windows 7, 8 and 10 32 / 64 bit.
C run-time libraies Some UPDD installers will automatically install these libraries if they are not already installed. Others may require you to manually install.  Should you get a DLL missing error during install then you can install the required C run-times from here. Since UPDD 6.0.156 the software utilises its own private copy of the c libs.
Access to TCP IP port 4146 The driver requires access to TCP IP port 4146 for internal computer processing only. This port can be changed if required in the UPDD Bootstrap file.

UPDD utilizes TCP/IP for inter-process communication. The user mode driver component listens on port 4146 and other programs (including custom programs utilizing the UPDD API) communicate with this port. The driver requires access to TCP/IP port 4146 for internal computer processing only. This is bound to the loopback adapter only, i.e. it is available only to processes running on the local machine.

When specialist UPDD I/P features are to be used (to provide distributed touch facilities) then all addresses are bound, allowing the port to be opened from any network node with the appropriate access and this access should be managed using firewall rules.
